The police issued a press release on Monday informing about the catch. On the 5th, the press release stated, personnel of the Kohima district police on duty at the Phesama check gate stopped a mini bus. The bus bore the registration MN-01-1848, the police stated. The personnel found four kilograms of opium in liquid form from the possession of a person identified as Mohendro, a 44-year old from Sogobar village in Imphal (West) district of Manipur stated. “The illegal contraband was found neatly wrapped in 4 (four) packets when recovered by the police. In this connection a regular case vide South P.S Case No. 08/17 U/S 22 (c) NDPS Act is registered against the arrested person referred above for conducting further investigation,” the police added.
