Kohima police issue traffic regulations

Dimapur, Aug. 12 (EMN): In view of the 72nd Independence Day celebration at Secretariat Plaza, Kohima, on August 15, Kohima police has issued traffic regulations as part of the security arrangement.
In a press release, additional superintendent of police informed that only vehicles with car pass ‘Z’ (red) and car pass ‘Y’ (blue) would be allowed entry to the Secretariat Plaza.

It stated that vehicles with Car Pass ‘X’ (green) would drop their respective officers at the main gate and should park outside the Secretariat complex. It said parking outside the main gate of the Secretariat Plaza would be free for all public. No vehicle including two wheelers would be allowed parking by the roadside from 6 am onwards on Aug. 15 from BSNL telephone exchange till Classic Island; from Raj Bhavan till Classic Island; and from Classic Island till Assembly Secretariat via Razhü Point.

The stretch from High School junction to Assembly Secretariat via Sanuoru subway would be made pliable for light vehicles only for down traffic. All up vehicles would continue to take the Billy Graham road till further notice.Heavy vehicles would not be allowed to ply from High School junction to Assembly Secretariat via Sanuoru subway. All heavy vehicles including government department buses should take Tinpatti-DBS-Billy Graham-Secretariat road.

It also informed that heavy vehicles will not be allowed to ply in Kohima town till the programme is over. All loading and unloading of goods in Kohima town should be completed by 6 am. Heavy vehicles would not be allowed parking along the “D” Block road. While anticipating positive co-operation from the public, it cautioned that police would tow away the defaulting vehicles adding charges would be borne by the vehicle owners.
