Kohima District Childline Advisory Board meets

Dimapur, June 23 (EMN): The Kohima District Childline Advisory Board meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Kohima Rajesh Soundararajan (IAS) at the DC’s Conference hall on June 23.
The DC appreciated the Kohima Childline team for their good work in helping the children in need of care and protection. Coordinator child line Kohima Dr. Vezokho Kapu gave power point presentation, highlighting that Childline Kohima has been rendering services of rescuing missing children, abused children, run away children, medical assistance, child labour, street children, differently abled and all kinds of children in need of care and protection. He also informed about toll free 1098 emergency phone outreach service for children.
The members also discussed agendas such as the need for Childline rescue van for cases intervention, special programme and orientation for District Task Force Committee on Child Labour, awareness on child training for Anganwadi workers , ASHA workers and nurses on child rights issues, coordination with DCPU, awareness cum training for various community leaders in case intervention special programme etc. and incorporation of Childline logo and message in the traffic points and police barricades.
Dr. Kapu also highlighted different categories (224) cases intervened by the Childline Kohima.
Deputy Commissioner, Rajesh Soundararajan asked the Kohima Childline to revise their data from time to time in order to present accurate data to the people in the District.
