Dimapur, April 18 (EMN): A home for the priests under Kohima Diocese was blessed and inaugurated on April 17 in the presence of priests, sisters and laity. Bishop of Kohima, Rev. Dr.  James Thoppil, officiated the rites of blessing, while Fr. OC Abraham, senior most priest of Kohima Diocese, inaugurated the new home for priests.

Speaking on the occasion, Rev. Dr. James Thoppil congratulated and thanked the benefactors and persons who were responsible towards making the home for priests a reality.

He asserted that senior and retired priests have the right to get a comfortable stay. He added that the priests after slogging for the mission need a decent place to be taken care. He further appreciated the priests for their tireless efforts and sacrifice they put in for the churches in Nagaland.

Also speaking on the occasion, Fr. OC Abraham appealed to the laity to love their priests. He added that it is a ‘house of crying for love where the elderly and retired priests needed the most.’

Earlier, Fr. Sajan Joseph accorded the words of welcome. He assured his continual support for the smooth running of the home. The highlights of the programme included prayer of blessing, prayer of the faithful and sprinkling of the Holy water inside and outside the new building.
