Kohima board toasts to govt. school topper

Dimapur, May 15 (EMN): The Kohima district planning and development board (DPDB) felicitated high school leaving certificate examination topper Niji Kath, on May 15 in Kohima.
Kath secured 1st rank with the highest aggregate marks from among government schools in Kohima district in the HSLC examinations for 2019, updates on May 14 stated.
The government publicity agency, the department of Information and Public Relations (IPR), gave updates on Wednesday about the programme.

In her short speech, Niji Kath expressed happiness that she came out with flying colors. She thanked the board for organizing the programme for her.

Over the years since her schooling days, she said, she had an aim to excel in examinations.
With effort, unrelenting parental support, expert and knowledgeable teachers, she could achieve success, Kath said.
The student thanked her teachers and parents for their support.

The deputy commissioner of Kohima, Anoop Khinchi, congratulated Kath for her success and expressed pride to be acknowledging achievers who confronted all odds to achieve success.

The administrator lauded Kath’s parents for bringing up and supporting their daughter to success.
The role of parents in motivating their children is very important, he said.

The officer said further that government schools have the best resources in regard to teachers and facilities.
Khinchi urged the schools to make the best use of the facilities to experience more success stories in the future.

The officer also suggested felicitating top-three students and top holding schools from the district in the future.
The officer wished Niji Kath more success and a bright future ahead.

Ahichu Kath, father of the topper, and Meyawabang, the headmaster of the government high school of Botsa, also spoke during the occasion.
