Dimapur, March 5 (EMN): Emphasising that youth are second to none in any field, Deputy Commissioner, Kiphire, Sedevikho Khro exhorted youth of the district to strive forward in removing the backward tag.
Speaking as the chief guest at the District Youth Convention and Yuva Kriti organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), Kiphire, on March 4 on the theme ‘Role of youth in cleanliness” Khro said our goals and target should not end by simply organising programmes but rather take good lessons from the programme and take it forward in polishing and perfecting talents and contribute it in building society.
He also congratulated NYK Kiphire for organising such an event and further encouraged to continue even in the future.
Kiritong Sangtam, former executive chairman USSC, was the resource person.
The programme was chaired by Selicho, NYV, while invocation was said by Ms Yotsala, youth director KTBL, and Aketo, NYC, delivered the welcome and keynote address. Special number was presented by students of Rashtra Bhasha Hindi Institute, Kiphire, while vote of thanks was delivered by Seoting, NYV.
Folk song and folk dance competitions were conducted in which Anatongre Youth Endeavour and SHG Longthonger were declared winner and runners up respectively in folk song while Friends Club Kiphire was declared winner in folk dance.
Altogether 10 SHGs took part in exhibition. Flower Group Phelungre and Mutreki SHG were declared winner and runner up respectively.
