Dimapur, April 15 (EMN): Kiphire district observed National Science Day under the theme “Communicating Science for All” at Hopongkyu Memorial Hall on April 13 with Deputy Commissioner of the district M. Shayung Phom as the special guest. A total of eight schools participated in the event.
Stating that “science is a reasoning subject,” Phom appealed to the students and participants to be more “creative and innovative” so that they can excel in their career. He also requested the district education department to organise more programmes for the students in the days to come.
ADC Kiphire, Renny Wilfred, IAS who was also the guest speaker, revealed that “No plastic” campaign will soon be initiated in all the schools within the district and requested the students to take part in it. He also appealed to all the students to grow into a better citizen and do things that will benefit the people.
According to an update from DIPR, an exhibition competition was held as part of the National Science Day event. Langkuli and Sumit Saby from Saramati View Modern School won the first position in the competition, while Sero and Roshan from Loyola Hr. Sec. School got the second prize, and the third prize went to Liopila and Manish Kumar from Trinity High School.
