Kidima offers organic vegetables

Organic vegetables including wild mushrooms and fig fruits in Kidima are in high demand particularly for travelers from Kohima – Phek via Kidima village for its nutritional values and rich taste. Locally available organic vegetables and herbs including wild mushrooms and fruits filled row of stalls for buyers along the roadside in the village.
Kidima vegetable village is located in Kezochazou Range which ends at Kijükemetouma, geographically known as the longest range in Nagaland without any river/ stream between the mountains. The road connects Chakhabama to Mao, Viswema to Zuketsa via Kidima (Kohima to Pfüsero- Phek) with Ritsonzade as centric point in Kohima district some 32 km away from state capital.The vendors are village farmers with absence of second party or wholesale system. Vendors found their convenient routine for plucking, selling and cultivation in morning, day and evening shift.
Wild mushrooms are in high demand by the hoteliers for soup preparation. It is much cheaper comparing to market price in other towns. Fig fruits are also in high demand particularly for diabetic patients as well as preventive for other diseases and to control blood pressure. Fig juice is one of the best tastes.
Organic vegetable itself is the gift for diet, taste and health care.
Kidima village was found prominent in the history during World War II for fighting with Dao between the Allied forces and Japanese. History recorded that British armies were stationed in Visone area, Makromi Khel, while the Japanese troops climbed from southwest in the low land and stationed below Visone. Despite proximity of the two forces, the opponent British and Japanese troops could not position for gun battle and had to fight with dao and bayonet resulting in the loss of many lives.
