KFL: Sechu Zubza thrash bottom place United 16 FC; Ziekezou SC draw

Kohima, Aug. 8:  League leaders Sechu Zubza thrashed United 16 FC 6-0 as Shurhosul Zhotso scored a brace to make sure the team get the three points during the ongoing 2nd edition of Kohima Football League at the Kohima local ground on Wednesday.

Ziekezou SC failed to seize the opportunity to close the gap behind the league leaders after they conceded a goal in the last minute to gift Twenty XI a point during their league match.

The win puts Sechu Zubza three points above Ziekezou SC at the league table with 17 points and second place Ziekezou SC with 14 points in eight matches.

A brilliant effort from Khiuwangbo Kaurinthah helped Sechu Zubza to register their fifth win in the league matches. Shurhosul’s brace and a goal each from Kekhrieletuo Tsira, Aloumei Panmei, Noune Medoze, Zeaneikho Miasalhou completed the riot against United 16 FC.

Zubza team dominated the game and Khiuwangbo Kaurinthah created the first chance for Shurhosul Zhotso to score but his header was inches away from giving the lead.

Minutes later, Sechu Zubza opened the account through Shurhosul Zhotso in the 17th minute as Khiuwangbo Kaurinthah crossing found Zhotso inside the area and he made no mistake to score the first goal.

United came close from scoring through Temjenmeren’s long range kick but the shot was inches away from giving United 16 the equaliser in the 20th minute.

Khiuwangbo then assisted Kekhrieletuo Tsira to score in the 44th minute to make it 2-0 at the end of the first half.

Within the introduction of the second half, Aloumei Panmei score from a deflection in the 46th minute after Kekhrieletuo shot was deflected by the keeper but Panmei bounced the ball to score the third goal.

United 16 FC were made to pay for their defensive lapses as playmaker Khiuwangbo corner kick met with Noune Medoze for him to score in the 52nd minute. Shurhosul scored from a free kick in the 59th minute to make it 5-0. United 16 couldn’t register a goal in target as Zeaneikho Miasalhou headed home the sixth goal to finish the game in the 91st minute.

Ziekezou SC and Twenty XI FC settle for a draw

Twenty XI FC, Viswema came from behind to snatch a point against second place Ziekezou SC during the encounter.

Ziekezou SC took the lead in the 11th minute through their captain Neikethozo Yhome. But the team again conceded a penalty in the 93rd minute for Metol Neikha to convert the spot kick and share a point each at the end of the match.

Teisovise Metha, Commandant of 4th NAP was the match patron.
