Kevirialie Liegise is champion of KYO wrestling meet
Khonoma, Jan. 10 (EMN): Kevirialie Liegise defeated Kelhusalie Pier in the final to emerge as the champion at the 49th wrestling meet of Khonoma Youth Organisation (KYO) on Wednesday.
Son of late Megosato Liegise, Kevirialie lifted the title following his victory against an upcoming wrestler Kelhusalie who is the son of veteran wrestler Megokholie Pier.
The third position was bagged by Vizobilie Punyü, son of Petuo Punyü, while Kevikolie Meyase, son late Visazoto Meyase was placed fourth.
45 wrestlers from three khels took part in the championship held at Terhotsiese, Khonoma village.
Earlier, the inaugural function was graced by Dojü Khate, president, Merhüma Union, as the chief guest, while the VDB secretary of Khonoma village Mhiesirieto Punyü was the guest of honour.
The day’s programme was also graced by Er. Kevisekho Kruse, Retd Chief Engineer, PHED, Government of Nagaland, as the special guest.
Meanwhile, the selected wrestlers will represent the village at the forthcoming wrestling meet of the Western Angami Sports Association.
