Dimapur, Oct. 23 (EMN): The 63rd youth convention of Konyak Baptist Bumeinok Bangjum (KBBB) was held from October 19 to 22 at Mission Centre, Mon, on the theme “Youth for Christ and the church” wherein more than 2000 delegates from 114 churches attended the event.
During the programme, Convention Hall was dedicated by Rev. Chemyuh, KBBB executive secretary, followed by opening ceremony presented by youth of KBCM.
Nyamto Wangsha, the outgoing principal of KHSS, Mon, and Yapang Longkumar, pastor of Covenant Baptist Church, Dimapur, were the main speakers. There were several competitions where youth participated to explore their talents. The items of competition were painting, essay writing, scripture knowledge, quartet, Bible memory recitation with action etc. Singers like Mendan, finalist of Naga Hindi Voice; Threnon, finalist of Naga Orpheus Hunt; and Langphong Hamnyei also performed during the convention.
Panel discussion on the topic ‘Clean election’ added flavour to the gathering which concluded with a grand bike rally under the banner “I am the messenger of clean election,” Flag off service of the bike rally was held at Mon Theological College campus on October 23 at 7:30 AM, which was graced by the Deputy Commissioner, Mon. It started from Mission Centre and culminated at Helipad, Mon.
Wangchah would continue as youth director but Jeiang and Ms. Naomi have retired as they completed their tenures. Phaipa and Ms. Nyelei, vice president and join secretary, have been promoted to president and general secretary respectively. Joseph and Ms. Eji Wangnyu have been inducted as vice president and join secretary respectively, for the tenure 2018-2019. The 64th KBBB youth convention will be hosted by Chi village.
