Karbi women organisation observes anniversary

Diphu, August 2 (EMN): Karbi Nimso Chingthur Asong (KNCA) Karbi women organisation celebrated its 31st anniversary on August 1 at its central Committee office, Diphu-Lumding road. In the second session leadership training was also conducted which was presided by KNCA President Rengka Taropi and Merina Beypi.
The objectivity of the meeting was delivered by Pratima Engheepi, KNCA General Secretary. She said that KNCA was formed 1986 at Donkamokam, West Karbi Anglong with the aim to strengthening the women organisation in the region. KNCA also play a great role in Autonomous State struggle movement since the formation of its organisation, said Engheepi. She also said that the government are practicing divide and rule policy towards the women section by making grouptism like Self Help Group and other women organisation.
Addressing the programme, former KNCA President Lakhimai Lekthepi said KNCA begin its struggle from home, by giving education to their own children, maintaining the welfare of the family with great responsibility inspite of having their own responsibilities the members of KNCA came out from their own home and join in the Autonomous State struggle movement.
Karbi Students Association (KSA) President Semion Rongphar in his speech said that, the present KAAC- BJP government is mixed with RSS. “Recently the team of CEM has attended in the RSS training concluding day at Rengbonghom High School, Diphu this is not good sign for the people of Karbi Anglong added, Rongphar. “Not only that the region was imposed 144 cr PC but the Council Education department has given a place for training, this is questionable added Rongphar.
Adviser, Dimasa women Society Rimala Hojai said “we have to strengthen the Autonomous State movement in the coming days by joining twin hill district of Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao”. “The Sixth Schedule power is no more in the region, we have to revive the Sixth Schedule of the Indian Constitution, our press and moves are the same, until and unless we did not reach our destination we have to move on”. “We have to obtain 244(Article) of the Indian Constitution the Autonomous State for both Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao district, so in this regard we have to unite it again and start our struggle movement in the coming days,” added Hojai.
