Diphu, April 26 (EMN): On Wednesday afternoon, a meeting was held at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office between the district administration and members of the 24 organizations who have called for Karbi Anglong bandh from 6 pm this evening.
The meeting remained inclusive as both parties failed to agree to the other’s conditions. The district administration requested the organizations to withdraw the bandh but the organisations refused and remained firm on their earlier stand. Earlier, the 24 organisations had declared that they would withdraw the bandh only on the condition that they would receive a written assurance from the chief minister of Assam, Sarbananda Sonowal or any of the KAAC officials.
The administration officials could not assure the organisations of fulfilling the demand. However, the organisations have changed the timings of the bandh from 5 pm to 12 midight. The bandh will continue till 5 am of April 29, it was informed.
