Peren, April 20 (EMN): Sainik Shool Punglwa annual Inter-House Junior Basketball Championship for 2017-18 concluded on 19 April 2017 with Saramati house finishing at the top. The final match which was played between Doyang and Saramati houses had a stiff competition.
The audience was left guessing till the last minute of the fourth quarter as to which team would win because they were stuck at 37-37. However, in the last minute to the rousing shout of the supporters, Ezra Hoto Kiba, who was also, announced the best player of the championship, sealed the victory for Saramati house with a fine shot.
The occasion was graced by G.P. Captain Sanjay Gaekwad and the Principal of the school as the chief guest who congratulated the champions and encouraged the other teams not to lose heart but to keep trying and improving.
The championship which began on 12 April was played on league cum knock out basis among the six mother house of the school. Japfu house finished third in the championship.
