JSU golden jubilee celebration culminates

Dimapur, Jan. 2: Jakhama Students’ Union (JSU) golden jubilee celebration on theme “Envisioning competitive future” culminated on December 28 at Jakhama village.
JSU celebrated its golden jubilee on December 27 and 28, with Niketu Iralu Trustee, Centre for North East Studies & Policy Research, New Delhi as guest speaker and Koko Vizotha, Managing Director, Fernwood Higher Secondary School Kohima and Er. Khupi Natso, Engineer-in-Chief, NPWD Kohima as speakers. K. Ashi Khieya, Additional Director General, National Academy of Customs Excise & Narcotic, Shillong released the Jubilee Souvenir. On the closing session, JSU adopted six point resolutions. The Co-Convenor of JSU Golden Jubilee Planning & Organising Committee Advisor, Kezhokhoto Savi while reading out the six resolutions, stated that to become one of the cleanest village in the state, the villagers has to improve their drainage system and waste management, have to rigorously continue cleanliness drive, plantation and civic sense has to be promoted amongst the villagers.
The resolutions included- to become one of the cleanest villages in the state by 2030, to protect their environment and Jakhama to be an organic village. JSU re-affirmed to support the Village Council resolution in total liquor prohibition in the village and JSU make an appeal to the village council to totally stopped hunting. In order to uplift the less privilege and also to build the foundation of the generation, JSU Educational Trust was also launched on the occasion which would continue to help and encourage the students to do better in their studies and career.
