Joint Forum formed to maintain peace

A joint forum was formed to maintain peace and tranquility in Tuensang town following the resolutions adopted during a co-ordination meeting of C.K.S, U.S.L.P, K.T.C and Tuensang town ward unions at CKS Hall today.
Accordingly, the joint forum has resolved to jointly co-ordinate to shun violence and to initiate prompt action against any individual/group that violates the resolution.
“Any new person/family if comes to resides (permanent/temporary) in Tuensang town should inform to the concern Sector/Ward union leaders, and the same will be intimated to the respective village Union of Tuensang Town, said a joint statement issued by CKS President MP Nokshang, USLP President TY Sangtam, KUTT (KTC) Treasurer T. Neolo Khaim and TTAWU President S. Ato Chang. “Untimely/overtime gathering in groups and any individual loiters in suspicious manner should be checked by the respective sector/ ward.”
Joint forum will co-ordinate and approach the government for security measures as and when required. The meeting also resolved to approach DC and SP, Tuensang for deployment of security personnel for night patrolling in order to maintain peaceful atmosphere in Tuensang town in co-ordination with sector/ ward union.

ENNWU to take stock of situation

The Eastern Naga National Workers Union (ENNWU) Tuesday held an emergency meeting at the residence of Convenor TT.Among Steering Executive Member NSCN/GPRN to take stock of the situation following the killing of a couple on February 6 near Yayi Bridge under Shamator Sub-Division and the incidents at Kiphire, Pungro and Shamator town where several houses were burnt and vehicles set on fire.
ENNWU has also informed all the national workers of USR, Yimchunger Region and Saramati Region both civil and armies of NSCN/GPRN to restrain from any activities rather co-operate the concerned authorities to make the situation normal and to bring immediate peace and tranquility in the area.
“Failing to comply with, the ENNWU leaders will not be held responsible for any consequences.”
ENNWU further urged all the frontal organizations and community leaders to come forward and help each other in resolving the problem without any bias. Meanwhile, ENNWU strongly condemned the cold-blooded murder of the couple and arson that followed in different places. The union also expressed deep condolence to the bereaved family member and prayed their soul to rest in peace.
