Joint council serves ultimatum to NH authority

Dimapur, July 11 (EMN): A Zunheboto based organization under the aegis of “Office of the joint council – Awotsakili, Lokobo, Naghuto Old/New, Vekhuho Old/New and Aizutu Centre” has served an ultimatum to the National Highway authority to immediately repair road in between Kitsakita-Akuluto via Asukhuto KPA (30 km) and Kitsakita-Akuluto via Aizuto Mission Centre (23 km).
In a press release appended by ‘Joint Council Chairman” Vitoshe Achumi and eeighteen other signatories, stated that the road condition has deteriorated and endangering the lives of public travelling on those roads.
The GBs and concerned village councils have threatened to impose indefinite bandh on NH 702 (A) if the department does not start repairing within July 20, adding that the national highway authority would be held full responsible for any unwanted eventuality.
“All though the GBs and councils understand the Zunheboto district and Sumi in general could be affected. However, the GBs and council has to safeguard the life of travelers before the deplorable and damaged road bring accident on road and endanger lives of travellers,” the release stated.
