JN Aier students told to think out of the box

Unless students refuse being enslaved by technology, and unless they pursue the academics and think critically, they can never move ahead. This was the message that a district official gave to students of J N Aier College in Dimapur during a conclave for freshmen. The 4th conclave for freshmen of J N Aier College in Dimapur was conducted on Friday in the college’s campus. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur Elizabeth Ngully was the ‘chief motivator’ of the event.
In her address to the students, Elizabeth Ngully said that a new phase had begun for the news students as they have reached ‘college level’. Ngully said that life was a learning process that never stops and that the purpose should always be to learn something new. They should not only strive for economic achievements but also think critically, she said.
Further, Ngully said that the culture of e-learning, with the advancement of science and technology has developed modern living and one can always take the comfort. However, she cautioned, one should not be ‘enslaved’ by technology.
Citing students’ basic values to be discipline, sincerity, and responsibility, the ADC encouraged all the students to work hard while being true to one’s self and make the society proud with positive feats. ‘Unless students have a positive approach to life, they can never move ahead, she said.
During the event, seven academic toppers from the college were felicitated.
JN Aier College was launched four years ago with just 28 students. Today, the college has more than 200 students.
This year 93 students are said to been admitted to the college from various communities of the state and from outside the state as well.
After various rounds, Chanchithung was declared as Mr. Fresher for 2015 and Vesakholü as Miss Fresher for 2015 out of the 17 contestants.
