JD (U) empowers state unit to decide on election participation

[caption id="attachment_161843" align="alignnone" width="550"] Nagaland JD (U) leaders with the party’s national president, Nitish Kumar, and other leaders.[/caption] Dimapur, Jan. 27 (EMN): The Janata Dal (United) unit of Nagaland has informed that it leaders had on Sat. met with the party’s national president, Nitish Kumar, and “other party functionaries to finalise various issues pertaining to the forthcoming general elections to the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly slated for 27th February 2018.” A press statement from the party on Sat. stated that ‘in the past two days leadership of the Janata Dal (United), NPF and NDPP have had discussions’ about the state of political situation currently in Nagaland. “The main issues that were discussed centred on the matter of pre-poll alliance and the number of seats to be contested. After a long deliberation on the prevailing circumstances vis-a-vis the last five years regime of Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) where the JD(U) was also a part of it, the national president, has decided to endorse the whole issue of electioneering matter to the state unit,” it informed.
