Dimapur, Dec. 17 (EMN): Japu village located under Mangkolemba sub-division of Mokokchung district has undertaken work to metal an approach road leading to the village with own funds.
“This 2 km road has never been black-topped and the poor quality of the road has been a serious inconvenience to the villagers,” stated a press release from the Japu Senso Mungdang’s President Noklemba Longshir.
“The metalling work is expected to be completed by the end of Dec. and villagers are eagerly looking forward to this New Year present,” it added.
The press release mentioned that earlier in 2013, a portion of the road inside the village of around 2 km length was also ‘metalled’ by the villagers with own resources.
