Interactive interfaith prog. in Dimapur concludes

Leaders representing various religions in Dimapur interact during a meeting that was part of a recent interfaith initiative in the city.

Dimapur, Jan. 14 (EMN): The interfaith community event focusing on visiting places of worship of different religions in Dimapur concluded on Sun. Jan. 14 at Christian English School in Dimapur.

A press release from the organisers, calling itself the People’s Forum for Peace, informed on Sun. that the organisation organised the visit to the leaders of the various religions in the city ‘to pray for world peace.’ They visited the mosque, Durga Mandir, Jain temple, and Holy Cross church in Dimapur the previous Sun. the updates informed.

Continuing from the previous week’s visit, Pastor John Roughton, Lama Pasang Dorjee and Rev. Vilodi led the prayers at the Spirit of Faith Church, Buddhist temple and at the Angami Baptist Church in Dimapur, in that order. The updates stated that they led the prayers ‘while sharing about the oneness of all the faiths.’

The organising group has expressed gratitude to all the leaders of the faiths ‘for their wholehearted participation and sharing the commonalities of the various faiths,’ the updates stated.

Hoping for such interactions to continue in near future, the People’s Forum for Peace prays for the ‘growth of cosmopolitan nature of Dimapur’ to accommodate all the communities.
