Inter-district and State Table Tennis Championship concludes

KOHIMA, OCTOBER 13: The closing ceremony of the 22nd Inter District and State Table Tennis Championship was held at Indoor Table Tennis Stadium, Kohima on Thursday. The guest of honour, deputy director, Youth Resources & Sports department, Nizheto Awomi in his speech cited the lack of Table Tennis players (TT) in the state and encouraged the players to work harder since TT was an area where players from the state can shine at the national level.
He also encouraged the organisers to bring more participants from other districts for the next edition as this year’s players were only from three districts i.e. Kohima, Mokokchung and Dimapur. The three-day long championship was organised by the Nagaland Table Tennis Association and hosted by Kohima District Table Tennis Association.
Dimapur team received a cash of Rs.10000 who emerged as the champions, while Kohima district received Rs 5000 as the runner-up. Individual category for both single and double were also awarded Rs.5000 and runners-up Rs.3000 each respectively. Categories also include men, women, youth and junior.
