Inter college Pow-woW Fest 2017 concludes

Dimapur, March 18 (EMN): The second day of the Mahindra (Truck & Bus Division) and Tetso College Pow-woW Intercollege festival started with a gush of enthusiasm as all the participating colleges were rooting for their own teams.
In a tense and toughly fought semi-final basketball (Men) match between Tetso College and Unity College the latter won by one point. Unity College then went on to win the Basketball (Men) championship by beating Salesian College 35 – 15. In the women’s basketball final, Tetso College beat Unity College by 1 point scoring 5-4.
The badminton men and women’s final witnessed easy victories. The women’s final was played between Sakus Mission College and Dimapur Government College where Sakus Mission College won in straight sets. In the Men’s Doubles, Hindi College beat Tetso College. Earlier an Online selfie contest witnessed massive social media participation. The winner of the selfie contest was Tsiavisa Nyuthe from Tetso College with 1545 likes on her profile picture which was only 8 more than Temjenbenla of Dimapur Government College who secured 1537 likes.
In the Debate competition on the topic “Is 33% reservation for women necessary in Nagaland”. Elizabeth Chophi of Unity College was declared the best speaker where she spoke against the motion. She won a gift hamper worth Rs 3000 from Mystique Spa and Salon.
Altogether seven students took part in the competition, four students were for the motion and three students against the motion. After a rapid exchange of opinions from both the parties.The closing ceremony of the Pow-woW fest was hosted by Mughato Aye of B.A. 2nd semester and Yekili Cheryl Zhimomi of B.A. 4th semester. The result of various competitions was declared by Dr Hewasa Lorin, Vice-Principal, Tetso College and vote of thanks was conveyed by Shitio Shitiri, co-ordinator Pow-woW. Vehokhu from Mahindra (Truck and Bus Division) gave out the Overall Champion award which went to Tetso College while runners-up was Unity College.
