 Oath taking is an undesirable trait. Many Christians discourage, although some people of every community, are fond of it. They would swear as if they are perpetually in the dock, or hired as false witness in the box, or making a confession by force of habit in the Church. Once “By Mary” was commonly heard. “Ma Kali” in Bengal sails in the same boat. People lies under oath and say truth without it.

 Doing it with passion is different from doing one's duty. When you are just doing your duty, your involvement is only as much as the law demands of you. You do it as much - your legal obligation requires. In doing your duty, you go as far as the terms of contract.

1. CUPID’S ARROW: Kam Dev in Hindu mythology is the Roman god Cupid. The story goes that Himalaya (mountain)’s daughter, Durga tried to draw the attention of Shiva, the universally known fertility god who was lost in meditation at icy heights there. Shiva is known to be forgetful to the extent of forgetting his own date of marriage at Kanyakumari (deep south) and so did not present himself on the occasion.

 They say Corruption is inevitable in Communist and socialist countries. China is a mess but rosy pictures of China is portrayed because the Media is gagged, Former USSR and now the present Russia is Corruption infested and India which proclaims in her Preamble that she is a socialist country is doing no better. Coming to northeast, Assam and Nagaland tops the list when it comes to corruption and I bow my head in shame.
