In Mokokchung, burglars are making hay while moon shines

Burglars and thieves seem to be making some serious hay while the, well, moon shines in Mokokchung town. The Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce and Industries has reported the several cases of burglary in the recent times. The business community has asked the enforcement authorities get their acts right and do something about it.
The Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce and Industries issued a note on Friday asking the district authorities to enforce measures to prevent criminal and antisocial activities in the town.
The organization stated: “It has been brought to the notice of the Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce and Industries that some burglars have been breaking into shops at night in Mokokchung town on a routine basis lately. A general grocery shop was burgled into on the night of October 1, 2015 and another watch store was burgled on the night of October 7. Then, on the night of November 14, another shop was burgled into at night and looted. Another aborted burglary was reported on the same shop only three days later.”
In this connection, the MCCI has requested the police to investigate into the matter and ‘bring the culprits to book as well as restore adequate security measures in the town immediately so that such cases do not happen again, especially during this festive season.’
The organization has also advised the business community to be more vigilant.
