True to their name INFUSE consists of five young lads with diverse backdrops. They came together to compete at the open beat contest in Mokokchung district, they won the contest in 2012 and are still holding strong to their music dream today.
Rock is their music genre and they say it’ll take a “Revolution” to make them change their style of music! Eastern Mirror: How did the members come together and how long have you been playing? Talk us through your early association with music?
INFUSE: Initially we were only friends living in different places pursuing our studies….it was in December 2012 (during vacation) when we competed at Sungkutenem Open Beat Contest in Mopungchuket village…and by God’s grace we won the contest…Since then there was no looking back and here we are now as a band sticking around and playing together.

Eastern Mirror: What’s with the name of your band “INFUSE”?
INFUSE: The name “Infuse” means bringing together individuals (members) with varied musical potential and ideas and combining them to define the band’s personality as a whole.

Eastern Mirror: What can people expect to see you in your live performances?
INFUSE: We play Contemporary Melodic rock, experimental rock, progressive metal and give emphasis mostly on melodies.

Eastern Mirror: How did you get involved in the type of music that you play now?
INFUSE: We play rock music because we love rock music…we’ve come across many people advising us to change our style of music but it will take a whole lot more to convince us……Maybe a ‘Revolution’ hahaha….Our goal is to keep things original and keep rock music alive.

Eastern Mirror: What was the first song that you ever played? How was the feeling?
INFUSE: The first song we played as a band were two of our originals, Deception & Let truth prevail. It all started from a scratch and we were in a hurry so it was in fact the first experiment we did for our first beat contest and we had so much fun.

Eastern Mirror: Have you performed outside the state? If so how do the shows and crowds differ from our state?
INFUSE: We’ve performed in Shillong and the show was awesome, the crowd out there was great and supportive but During the Hornbill International Rock Contest in Nagaland…we were overwhelmed by the support and love they gave us….we had a truly memorable time and the fans made it all the more worthwhile

Eastern Mirror: If you have to change one thing about the music industry in Nagaland what would that be?
INFUSE: Music has always been an integral part of our lives…and we are sure it’s every mans salvation… It’s a growing industry in Nagaland…ever-changing scene…one has to be spontaneous and opportunistic…make the best out of every opportunity!
