Introducing herself not as a musician but as ‘music lover and a music enthusiast,’ young talented Azen Rengma today in ‘Rhythm of Love’ shares some of her inspirations and her relationship with ‘music’.

EASTERN MIRROR: A little intro about yourself as a musician……
AZEN RENGMA: To start with I am not a professionally trained musician. I’d rather like to introduce myself as a music lover and a music enthusiast.
I grew up listening to Green Day and The Beatles.
Music for me is not how you present yourself as an artist but how you understand your music and give justice to it.

EASTERN MIRROR: As a musician whose footsteps do you wish to follow and why?
AZEN RENGMA: My inspiration for music comes from my parents. They were always there to encourage me as an artist. My all time favorites Green Day is always the greatest inspiration and I tend to follow their footsteps.

EASTERN MIRROR: What is your debut ‘Be What You Are’ all about?
AZEN RENGMA: “Be Who You Are” is something that reflects about my life. And through the song I also try to encourage people who are trying to move ahead in life..

EASTERN MIRROR: Has there ever been a day in your life when you thought ‘MUSIC’ can really do wonders in one’s life?
AZEN RENGMA: I can’t give an account of a particular day but yes, I have experienced the amazing taste that music can bring in one’s life. I should say the magical touch of music gives me a new life to build a career in a diligent way. If you truly love music it really does Wonders in your life.

EASTERN MIRROR: Who do you consider the best musician of Nagaland? And why?
AZEN RENGMA: There are many personalities with talents in our midst. Hmm… Moanungsang and Alo Wanth are my favorites. They have amazing voices and they are the masters who justify music with their talents.

EASTERN MIRROR: Favorite quote?
AZEN RENGMA: “Life on Earth is expensive but it gives a free trip around the sun”

EASTERN MIRROR: Is music a hobby or a passion for you?
AZEN RENGMA: Initially it started off as a hobby but now I’d say its a passion.

EASTERN MIRROR: What is the one good thing in your life that you just cannot do away with?
AZEN RENGMA: The best things in my life are my siblings. They are my hope, my love, my happiness, my everything. I dedicate all my success to them. I can’t even imagine my life without them. Love them.

EASTERN MIRROR: How do you see yourself 5 years from now?
AZEN RENGMA: In the next 5 years I would love to see myself working with great musicians. I also see myself as an inspiration to the young upcoming artist and for those who wants To chase their dreams of becoming a music icon. But I don’t want to see myself getting married in the coming 5 years. Watch out for my next single, releasing soon on www.indihut.com
