IMI 2nd round from Nov. 7

Dimapur, Nov. 6 (EMN): The Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, Rajesh Soundararajan, has informed that the 2nd Round of Intensified Mission Indradhanush (IMI) 2017 will commenced from Nov. 7 to 14th.
In this regard, all the concerned ward chairman and village council chairman have been asked to inform their respective Urban Health Committee (UHC) and Village Health Committees (VHC) to assist the visiting team.
The DC also requested the UHC and VHC to get the due lists of children and pregnant women (who are due for immunization), from the concern PHC or Sub-Centre, to coordinate with the officials, and asked them to create awareness and spread information to the concerned families, parents to increase the immunisation coverage.
Meanwhile, the Chief Medical Officer, Dimapur Dr. K Vikato Kinimi also informed that the MOHFW Govt. of India has launched IMI as a special drive to vaccinate all unvaccinated and partially vaccinated children under universal immunization programme.
He informed that the recent evaluation has indicated that the major reason for inability to vaccinate all the children in the country is lack of awareness among parents about the benefits of immunisation.
Therefore, CMO has requested all the parents to bring their children to immunization sites in their respective colonies/villages and immunise to prevent from vaccine preventable disease.
