IMPHAL, Jan 10: A 15-day grassroot football development programme sponsored by Veteran Soccer Association Imphal (VSAI) got underway with the active participation of more than 120 children at the Thangmeiband athletic Union ground in Manipur’s Imphal west district.
On Tuesday morning, a number of I-league players from Manipur including Gouramangi, Malemnganba and other players from state favourite NEROCA FC interacted with the young footballers (U-14) at Thau ground.The objective of the programme was to groom football players from the grassroots in the state which is currently having more than 200 footballers playing for the premier football clubs of the country. The visiting I-League football players also urged the young players to give their best in whatever endeavours they choose and set the sky as the limit.
