HSLC examination in Manipur begins today; 37, 323 students to appear

Imphal, Feb. 19 (EMN): Altogether 37,323 students, including 18,452 male and 18,871 female will be appearing High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination in Manipur.
The board examination will begin today Feb. 20 and continue till March 15.
The examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BOSEM) will be held across 139 board centres in the state.
This was announced by the BOSEM Chairman Th Kirankumar during a press conference at its office premises in Imphal on Tuesday.
He informed that for the first time, Science and Social Science papers would be evaluated separately.
To maintain transparency, he said CCTV cameras will be installed at the two evaluation centres to monitor the examiners.
The board has appealed the students to maintain discipline during the examination.
Controller (Examination) K Tiken informed that the DGP Manipur has been requested to provide security at the sensitive examination centres to avoid any untoward incident.
Meanwhile, District Magistrate of Thoubal has imposed prohibitive order under section 144, CrPC within a periphery of 100 metres from 15 exam centres in district to ensure smooth conduct of HSLC exam.
The orders would be effective from 7 am to 1 pm everyday starting form from February 20 till the examinations are over.
