Dimapur, August 17 (EMN): Commemorating a yearlong silver jubilee celebration, Horticulture department, Wokha division, has felicitated some pioneering and progressive farmers under various crops.
The progressive farmers were felicitated by minister of Geology and Mining and Border Affairs, Mmhonlumo Kikon, on the occasion of 71st Independence Day celebration in Wokha town on August 15.
The minister gave away certificates of merit along with tools and implements in recognition of their contribution towards the horticulture sector in particular and for the uplift of the farmers of Wokha district in general.
The award recipients are Yanpvuo Erui for passion fruit, Yipomo Humtsoe for large cardamom, Tsathei Humtsoe for passion fruit, Kizamo Yanthan for banana, Nchumbemo Humtsoe for banana, Chopathung Tsanglao for banana, Khodao Erui for pineapple, Anna Kikon for vegetables, Mhonyamo Murry for pineapple, Dr. YY Kikon for lemon grass, Humthungo Kikon for orange, Mhathung Jami for orange, Jacob Ovung for orange, Thachamo Humtsoe for orange and pineapple, Ezanimo Tsopoe for pineapple, Woshumo Khuvung for orange, Chenithung Tsanglao for best field staff, Y Shanchothung Humtsoe for best field staff, Tsenpvuo Kikon for best ministerial staff, and Chumbenthung Murry for best ministerial staff.
