Hornbill Festival: Visitor count attain six figures

Kohima, Dec. 6 (EMN): The 6th day of the ongoing Hornbill Festival has reportedly recorded 9464 visitors at the Naga Heritage Village, Kisama.
Informing this, Toka E. Tuccumi, tourist officer and statistics-in-charge said a total of 121 foreign tourists, 1498 domestic and 8027 local visitors were tallied.
Comparatively with the past 5 days, the 6th day has recorded the lowest number of visitors while the third day has recorded the highest inflow of tourists with 42544. Altogether a total of 1,06,141 tourists visited the Heritage Village in the past six days.

GOC 3 corps graces Day-6

The General Officer Commanding 3 Corps Lieutenant General Anil Chauhan graced the Day-6 programme of Hornbill Festival as the chief guest on Wednesday.
“Hornbill festival is different from similarly organised festivals as it showcases the unique culture of Nagaland state. It’s the reflection of character of Naga people, their simplicity, their honesty, open heartedness besides their martial character and the warrior instinct” stated Chauhan. He also complimented the people of Nagaland on the celebrations of Statehood Day.
The general officer also assured that the Army and the Assam Rifles are committed to assist the citizens of the state in whatever humble manner that they can, an stated through a press release from IGAR (North)
He later witnessed the cultural performances by the various Naga tribes and visited the Morungs and the WW II Museum at Kisama .
