Dimapur, June 16 (EMN): Chümoukedima Hindu Society (CHS), in association with Chümoukedima Hindu Yuva (CHY), organised its 2nd edition of felicitation programme for the meritorious students of HSLC and HSSLC on May 26 at Hotel NL-7.
The society general secretary, Prakash Chetri, stated that the programme was graced by Kelenguzo Kuotsu, Head GB of Chümoukedima town. It stated that Kuotsu spoke on the importance of education and its role in building the society.
He advised the students not to forget their parents and society after they become success in life but instead give back to the society.
The society treasurer, Sujit Dey, emphatically urged the students to refrain from developing negative thoughts and over-confidence but to build a positive approach towards self and develop the culture of hard work.
Sungemlila Longkumer, fifth topper with 92.4% in Arts stream from St. Joseph Higher Secondary School, Chümoukedima, also spoke on the occasion. She credited her success to the Almighty God, parents, teachers and friends. She further advised her friends to cultivate consistency in studies, accomplish a task by certain deadline instead of postponing, and also believe in prayers.
Students were with awarded with certificates and trophies.
Sungemlila Longkumer received cash presented by Pintu M Ghosh, CHS working president, and Suvankar Das from St. Savio High School with 89.17% also received cash award from Kelenguzo Kuotsu.
The programme was chaired by Papiya Chakraborty, CHY assistant general secretary, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Rashmita Roy, CHY member.
