Hindu Seva Samiti Resolution and Important Instructions for Durga Puja 2017

Hindu Seva Samiti, Dimapur wishes everyone a very Happy Durga Puja & Shub Vijaya Dashami. In order to participate in the nationwide movement of “Swach Bharat Abhiyan”, Hindu Seva Samiti decided to take part in this movement by initiating the theme of “Clean Dimapur-Hygenic & Healthy Dimapur & Save Electricity”. All the puja pandals are requested to conduct planning for painting, poster, easy & Quiz Competitions in their respective on the theme of “Clean Dimapur-Hygenic & Healthy Dimapur & Save Electricity”. Let the puja pandals be also education centres to educate our people on cleanliness and saving Power energy (Electricity). Charity begins from home so let us start this noble task of cleanliness by keeping our home, colonies, villages, drains, etc., clean. As we all desire to celebrate the festival of victory of Good over Bad in peace, it is necessary to abide ourselves by the following rules & regulations: –

1. All Puja committees are requested to perform the pujas in the true religious sprit & customs. Proper discipline and decorum should be maintained at all cost, so that image of Hindu faith is held high.

2. All puja pandals should be erected in such a way they do not disturb public throughfare and pandals should display posters and banners on the theme of “Clean Dimapur-Hygenic & Healthy Dimapur & Save Electricity and relate puja with swatch Bharat campaign .

3. Loud speakers should be played in such a way that they do not disturb the neighbourhood and general public. By any cost the sound system should be off by 10:00 pm.

4. All puja committees are requested to keep a strict vigil to prevent and BAN in the consumption of ALCOHOL during the puja days and immersion functions. Consumption of alcohol should be discouraged at all cost as it is against the Hindu Culture & faith.

5. Only devotional songs & music should be played in the puja pandals. Playing of drums, Cymbals and Conchs are the part of our culture and should be encouraged.

6. All Puja Committees are requested to keep a strict vigil on the suspected or unclaimed articles like Bags, Cartoon, etc., lying in and around the Puja Pandals, they must immediately inform the concerned Police Station to avoid any untoward incident.

7. All puja Committees are requested to ban the use of Plastics, Plastic fooding plates and Plate glasses during Puja. Make the puja pandals more eco-friendly. Try to propagate the theme of “Clean Dimapur-Hygenic & Healthy Dimapur and Save Electricity”.

8. On the Vijaya Dashami Day the procession for the immersion will start sharp at 7:30am on 30th September 2017 (Saturday) from the City Tower Junction. The trucks carrying the idols are requested to assemble at the City Tower Junction and occupy their requested sequence. Only one truck is allowed for each Puja Committee in the procession. All the Puja Committees Office bearers are hereby directed not to allow any ugly dance which is not in sprit of our religion in between the procession and Ghat.

9. Members of all Puja Committees are requested to wear the ethnic/ traditional costumes or white Chola- Or Pyjama Tshirts with logo of Samiti during the immersion procession in order to show uniformity and integrity.

10. In order to control the river pollution, all puja committees are requested not to bring any type of waste along with the Idols. As per the advice of the Nagaland Pollution Control Board, we should co-operate with them in keeping our Dhansiri River and our Dimapur City Free from Pollution.

11. Every puja committee is requested to bring any unattended idol lying on the road side for immersion so that the idols are not desecrated.

12. All Puja Committee are requested to control their own members and prevent scuffles with the other puja committees or general public. Immersion is a solemn ceremony so strict discipline and religious decorum should be maintained and as well avoid such actions by which the religious sentiments of other communities may hurt.

13. All Puja Committees are given 15 Volunteer Cards along with two guest cards. Only the card holders will be permitted inside the Ghat and they are requested to take proper care of their idols till the immersion. The Volunteers of every Puja Committee are requested to take charge of their truck carrying the idols till the immersion.

14. All Puja Committees are requested to avoid the use of candles and are requested to use only diyas/ deepaks (Oil/ Ghee Lamps) in their pandals and temples. Candles spread pollution as are made of chemicals whereas Diyas and Deepaks are more eco-friendly.

15. All Puja Committees are requested to co-operate with the District Administration, Police, Dimapur Municipal Council and Hindu Seva Samiti to ensure a smooth and joyous conduct of the pujas and immersion.

16. Police Commissioner Spacialy ask to put CCTV at Puja pandals which can afford and whereever much crowd is there, for surveillance and smooth function of security personell.

17. Special Instruction For 30th Sept. 2017

As only One bridge on dhansari river is working so Administration Directed to all puja committees not to holdup procession for unnecessary Dance etc. On 30th Sept.2017 for Smooth functionary of traffic.
