Highway Area Sumi Sports Association sports meet underway

Dimapur, Nov. 7 (EMN): The 6th edition of Highway Area Sumi Sports Association (HASSA) sports meet and Chekiye Memorial Football Trophy-Cum-Volleyball & Badminton Tournament was officially declared open by Advisor food & Civil Supplies NSDMA, LM&CP, Pukhayi Sumi as the special guest of the inaugural function.

In his short speech, Pukhayi said that sports are good for all of us in daily life as it involves us in common physical activities under healthy environment. The environment of sports becomes very competitive and challenging for the sportsmen so they focus on the challenges put in front. Physical beauty of the person involves in making the humanity of one self. There are variety of sports played by the people in various countries according to their customs and traditions. National or international level sports competitions takes place in any country for any sports. The guest said that there has always been a revolution in the field of sports from time to time and accordingly there are problems as well.

He said that some of the sportsmen become interested in sports and games from their childhood, some are God gifted from birth however some of them create interest to the particular game or sport in order to go in that area and earn name and fame. Some of us need inspiration and motivation from our parents, teachers or famous sportsperson however some of us have God gifted inspirations. Athletes having interest in the sports, play sports with their best effort even when they lose or win. They already know the fact that they cannot always win in each game they participate. They become very disciplined all through the life in order to get success and be ready on time. He also thanked HASSA for promoting young talents by organising such an event and urged the players not to be aggressive but to maintain the qualities of good sportsman and showcase their talents.
