Dimapur, Nov. 02 (EMN): The helicopter service run by the Nagaland State Transport resumed service in Phek district after a gap of 7 years on Nov.1
A report from DIPR stated that the Station Superintendent of NST Phek, Metsiviko Meyase while briefing media said that the service was suspended in the past due to security concerns raised over usage of the Assam Rifles helipad, and poor turnout of passengers.
However, the Department had always maintained a reserved slot for Phek district in its weekly routine. He requested the public to avail the service in order to maintain a continuity in its operation.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mhathung Tsanglao also thanked the Commandant 22 AR Colonel, R.K Vikram, Phek for making necessary clearance for usage of its helipad. Passenger service was a long felt need, and shall benefit the public of the district immensely, he added.
The department is currently partnering with M/S Global Vectra Helicorp Ltd and covers its operation in all the districts of the state, it added.
