Dimapur, March 10 (EMN): A meeting of the newly appointed heads of secondary and higher secondary institutions was held on March 7, at the conference hall of Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE), Kohima.
The purpose was to acquaint them with the management of schools and the various activities of the Board for over-all improvement of the educational system of the state.
The participants were briefed about the different activities and programmes of the Board by the officials. Iluheing Nsarangbe, Sr. Academic Officer spoke on academic matters related to the Board and important role of the schools in incorporating the co-curricular activities in the school plan.Kekhrielhoutuo Nakhro, Coordinator (IT) highlighted the features on Board’s website and emphasised on the use of net facilities and encouraged the school’s to have its own email id for easy communication. He also demonstrated on the use of the new software developed for online submission of forms.
Ekyimo Shitiri, Deputy Secretary (Accounts) shared on accounts and financial matters relating to the school. He also emphasised on prompt respond from the schools and encouraged them to go for cashless transactions.
Rangumbuing Nsarangbe, Controller of Examinations presented on examination reforms adopted by the Board and proper conducting of examinations. He also reminded the participants that as the head, one should be a role model, an agent of change and reminded them of the trust placed on them. He urged the heads to encourage the teachers to undertake professional studies and also proper infrastructure setup of the schools. Further, he thanked the members for their active participation and for their continuous support for improving the educational system in our state.
The programme was chaired by Controller of Examinations, Rangumbuing Nsarangbe, who on behalf of the chairman of NBSE, Asano Sekhose, welcomed the participants and also conveyed regret for her inability to be present at the programme. Principal of Emmanuel Higher Secondary School, Zunheboto, Vihuto Sümi invoked God’s blessing.
The meeting was attended by heads of institutions representing 82 schools.
