Greenwood School organises science exhibition

Dimapur, August 19 (EMN): Greenwood Higher Secondary School, Kuda village, in Dimapur organises its annual science exhibition on Saturday at the school auditorium with Deputy Passport Officer, Thangpong Khiamniungan, as the chief guest.
Addressing the student community, Khiamniungan remarked that science fair on the whole intends to create awareness. He added that it is imperative to organise such exhibition as part of education curriculum to encourage scientific temper among the students.
Such exhibition, he said, provides an opportunity for discussion of ethical issues and to come up with original ideas.
“Science and technology have progress tremendously and there are rooms for improvement with a need for active learning,” said Khiamniungan adding Science has been a blessing to mankind which has transformed our lives and the way we communicate and therefore we should remove ignorance around us.
While stressing on the importance of science and technology, he said it has also given way for destruction and enslaving us. However, he said the same destructive object can be utilised for something productive.
He called on the school to help create a scientific spirit among the students’ as such activities create young mind and an opportunity to solve many contemporary problems.
The welcome address was delivered by assistant teacher of Science Club, MC Das, while the word of appreciation was rendered by the chairman of Greenwood School, Kenilevi Khate.
