Governor welcomes Nov. 17 agreement

Dimapur, Nov. 23 (EMN): The Governor PB Acharya has on Thursday welcomed the signing of the agreement between the Government of India and the working committee of the six Naga political groups on November 17 stating that the peace talks were heading in the right direction. .
“Governor Acharya said that the peace talks were heading in the right direction and was hopeful for an early settlement. He said that the Central Government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, has a strong political will to bring an honourable solution to the Naga issue,” stated a press release from the Raj Bhavan.
The Governor also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Rajnath Singh for their strong commitment to find a permanent solution to the over ‘six-decades-old Naga issue’.
He also stated that once a permanent solution to the Naga issue comes into place it will spur development and progress which will create opportunities for employment and rapid development to be in tune with other developed states of the country.
“If India has to be prosperous, strong and peaceful, all States of the country have to be equally developed”.
The Governor also appealed to the educated youth who waiting for opportunities come back to Nagaland and “make it a develop state”.
“Only we can build our State and make it a golden Nagaland,” the Governor stated.
