Kohima, Nov. 17 (EMN): Governor, PB Acharya, on Saturday officially launched the Kohima Raj Bhavan journal www.kohimarajbhavanjournal.in- an online portal dedicated to the activities of the state governor and the events that take place at the Raj Bhavan, Kohima.
Speaking on the occasion, the governor expressed positivity that the portal would make readily available relevant data and up-to-date information about the Raj Bhavan to the people. Acharya also pointed out that social media has become a powerful tool to disseminate news because of its ability to reach out to a huge number of people across the globe.
In the same note, he emphasised the need for all to be careful regarding authenticity of information as cases of fake news circulating through social media have also become alarmingly high.
While informing that the new portal would be managed by NEPS media group independently, Acharya stated that both the official website www.rajbhavan.nagaland.gov.in and the new journal portal should complement and supplement one another. He particularly mentioned that such a portal dedicated to the Raj Bhavan and the governor by an independent media house was very rare as most of the official websites were maintained by the government nodal agencies.
NEPS news editor Okenjeet Sandham delivered a brief background, concept and objective of the Kohima Raj Bhavan portal.
Principal secretary to governor Piyush Goyal was of the view that the new portal was an apt tribute to the tremendous works that a governor of the state undertakes.
