Governor graces IIMUN meet

DIMAPUR, February 17

India International Model United Nations (IIMUN) started its three-day meet at G. Rio School Kohima on February 16 with the main agenda of securing India as a permanent member in the UN Security Council. Governor of Nagaland and Assam, P. B. Acharya was the chief guest.
Acharya expressed happiness that youths of the present generation have higher goals and concerns like permanent membership of India in UN Security Council. He said that youths are the main strength of our nation and urged them to preserve secularity, democracy and richness of our culture, “only a person who is proud of his culture can lead the nation”, he added.
He stressed on education, electricity and industry for the development of our state and also added that equitable distribution of wealth is necessary for progress. While urging the youths to have dreams through organization, the Governor also advised them to develop local resources and empower oneself first before pushing for permanent seat.Secretary General of IIMUN, Harsham Jain chaired the program. Vice President, IIMUN, Priyank Vasani and Principal, G. Rio Higher Secondary School, Kevino Savino spoke during the occasion. Students from G. Rio HSS presented a special number.
