Dimapur, June 12 (EMN): The governor of Nagaland PB Acharya handed over books to the government middle school of Viswema and Joe Foundation Inclusive School, both in Kohima district, on June 12 as part of a library programme.
The programme is said to have been sponsored by Team NagaChetana, Rotary Club of Karkala and Reading Star, a nongovernmental organisation that works to ‘ensure’ that every school is equipped with a library.
According to updates about the programme on Wednesday, Governor Acharya urged the students to respect their teachers and to enrich themselves with knowledge. He encouraged them to read as much as they could and make use of the library in their schools.
To the teachers, the governor told them to “strengthen the society by imparting the right education and knowledge” to their students.
Further, he said everyone should make best use of the infrastructure in their institutions. The governor urged them to be positive and to work with greater vision and enthusiasm, the updates stated.
