Governor and others mourn PF Zeliang’s demise

Dimapur, Dec. 28 (EMN): Governor PB Acharya has mourned the demise of PF Zeliang, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP-Law and Order) who passed away on December 27at Dimapur. In a condolence message, Acharya stated that PF Zeliang had served the government and the people of the State with dedication adding his immense contribution as a fair and efficient police officer would ever be cherished by the people of the State. ‘Late PF Zeliang’s contributions, sacrifices and service to the people the State will be remembered by all. His demise is a great loss to the State Police Department in particular and the people of Nagaland in general,’ stated that governor. He has further conveyed condolence to all family members and prayed to the Almighty to grant strength and solace to overcome the grief. Chief minister TR Zeliang, while mourning the demise of PF Zeliang, described him as a good friend and a close family friend. Recalling his long years of association with him, Zeliang said he had found virtues in him that is so rare to see in people these days. Also describing him as an honest and upright officer, Zeliang said he was a man who strictly followed the rule of law without any prejudice, fear or favour. He also termed him as a simple, down to earth and a very efficient officer and a man of principle and integrity. He has further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace. In a related statement, Lok Sabha MP Neiphiu Rio has eulogised PF Zeliang as an efficient and capable officer who rendered the best years of his life towards the service of the State and the people during the course of his career in various capacities. Rio described late Zeliang as a kind-hearted gentleman and fondly recalled the pleasant interactions they had over the years. He mourned that the people of Nagaland have lost a dedicated officer whose selfless services would be remembered for all times to come. Rio has further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace. MLA Y Patton, while mourning the demise of PF Zeliang, stated that he found the latter as a reliable, hard working and honest officer who works with integrity without any biasness. He lamented that the untimely demise of PF Zeliang has left the department bereft of a sincere and dedicated senior officer which has caused a huge vacuum which will be difficult to fill. He has further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed that the Almighty God to grant them comfort to bear with the loss.
