Dimapur, Nov. 14 (EMN): Governor’s Award – 2018 for different categories were distributed at a function organised at St. Joseph University on Nov. 14. The awards have been instituted by the Governor of Nagaland through an endowment fund to the students of St. Joseph University for the best performance in academics, extracurricular activities and social responsibility in the name of the eminent personalities viz. CV. Raman, Vallabhai Patel and Jayaprakash Narayan.
The C.V. Raman Award was presented to Chelila Sangtam and Sukesh Thapa for their best performance in academics. Khuo Rio and Juliet K. Sumi received Vallabhai Patel Award for extracurricular activities. Khromese U. Thopi and Chumthungo J. Shitiri received Jayaprakash Narayan Award for Social Responsibility. The awards consist of certificate and books by renowned authors.
The vice-chancellor of the university, Dr. D Gnanadurai, during his speech in the function said that the students should involve themselves in all the extracurricular, co-curricular and social actives to acquire a holistic education. He also expressed his gratitude to the governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya for his magnanimous grant for these awards. Sr. Thynase, Administrator Dr. Kanchana, Registrar and Fr. Justin, PRO congratulated and appreciated the recipients of the awards.
