Gorkha churches meet for 10th annual conclave in Tuensang

Dimapur, Jan. 14 (EMN): The 10th annual conference of the Association of Gorkha Baptist Churches of Nagaland (AGBCN) was held from Jan. 12 to the 14th within the church’s premises in Tuensang town. The event was conducted with the theme “In step with the word of God” (2 Tom 3: 16-17). It was hosted by the Nepali Baptist Church of Tuensang.

The main speakers of the conference were the pastor of Tuensang Baptist Church Rev H Sangkap Chang and pastor of Mokokchung Town Baptist Church Rev Ponen Longchar, a press release from the organisers on Sun. informed.

The speakers of the Bible study session of the event were the pastor of GBC of Niuland Rev. Krishna Sundas and pastor of NBC of Phek Rev. Kewezolo Mero. The DTNBC of the Duncan youth department led the congregation in praise and worship, the updates informed.

240 delegates from 40 Nepali and Gorkha churches and fellowships affiliated to the AGBCN attended the services spanning three days, the updates informed. During the conference the NBC of Wazeho and NBF of Piphema were given affiliation to the association while pastoral license was granted to Rajen Thapa of DTNBC. Also, Pastor Narendra Subba of the NBC of Wokha was ordained reverend, the press release stated.

A new team, among others, of office bearers of the AGBCN was appointed for the tenure 2018-20 during the event, it was informed.

The 10th annual general meeting of the AGBCN was also held during the conference, the press release informed.
