Good Morning Nagaland: Special Meat Balls recipe of ‘Black and White’ Mkg

The restaurant BLACK & WHITE located at Police Point (Town Square), Mokokchung Town serves a rich variety of cuisines, which include continental, Indian, Chinese, etc.
Thirty six year old Tairenla (Nunu) is the proprietor and head chef of this budding restaurant. Her interest in preparing different dishes was influenced by her father late Imtimeren, a former minister of Nagaland. She also conducts cooking and baking classes. She is also a social worker, providing a livelihood to single mothers by training and employing single mothers in her restaurant. The restaurant also caters to weddings, birthdays and kitty parties right from starters to main course. Today, Tairenla shares a delicious dish served at her beloved BLACK&WHITE restaurant!

Meat Balls

Ingredients
500 gm of good quality minced beef
One onion, peeled and very finely chopped
One garlic clove, peeled and finely chopped
50 gm white bread crumbs
25 gm cheese grated
Salt and black pepper
One large egg, lightly beaten
Two tbsp of olive oil

Method:
To make meatballs mix the minced beef, onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, cheese together in a bowl until combined season well and add the beaten egg to bind, mixing with your hand.
Shape a small piece of the mixture into a ball and fry in an oiled pan until cooked, then taste for seasoning. Chill for at least 30 minutes.
To cook meatball, heat the olive oil in a large, wide pan. Add the chilled meatball and fry for 5 minutes turning frequently, until browned all over.
Pour the tomato sauce over then and sinners for a further 10-15 minutes until the meat balls are cooked through.
