Dimapur, August 23: The 55th Annual sports week of the Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Pfutsero was held on Tuesday at School ground, Pfutsero with Additional Director (HOD), School Education, Wonthungo Tsopoe, as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Wonthungo said games and sports are important in school curriculum as it develops a sound mind, body and spirit of the child, to have competitiveness spirit that one have to work hard to earn a destination in life.
He improvised that sports today has become a lucrative business, a good sportsman not only bring laurels to the nation but also make a living and become a big asset to the nation.While emphasizing on the important of sport, he said Naga boys and girls can excel in different field of sporting activities, to this he added, the department has forwarded to government to open sports training Sports in the state.
Meanwhile, he also inaugurated the CCTV and Resource Room at GHSS. The CCTV has been installed in the class room to monitor the students and teachers. While the Resource Room has been design for the benefits of both teaching faculty and students to boost their knowledge, said Principal GHSS, Vechikhoyi Lohe.
The program was chaired by Kelhikha Kenye, vice principal of GHSS, invocation by Teisovilhou Koza, GT, welcome speech by Vechikhoyi Lohe, Principal GHSS and the administration of oath by Vilunyi Movi, PET. Meanwhile special song was presented by Surholu Tunyi and Kewekhro-u Tsuhah.
