Dimapur, April 21 (EMN): Amid the intermittent drizzle today, eight teams battled it out enthusiastically in order to qualify for the quarterfinal round scheduled for next week at Medziphema local ground. In the first match, Genesis FC, Medziphema Village went down to a spirited United FC, Medziphema 4-1, while the second match of the day witnessed Starlit FC, Moava, booking a berth for the upcoming round beating Young Challengers FC, Medziphema 2-0.
The afternoon matches, played on a rather slippery turf due to rain, saw Scampers United FC go down to Tribal FC, Dimapur 1-2, whereas the fourth match which turned out to be closely contested, had Leinghai FC triumph over Kickers FC, Chumukedima 1-0, at the final whistle.
