Wokha, Jan.19: In an exciting third quarter final match Brother’s Club Niroyo prevailed over Forest United 4-3 via tie break after both the team were locked in a 2-2 draw at the ongoing Lotha Football Championship.
Brother’s FC took two early lead through Nzanbemo (26 and 30 minutes) however Brother’s FC were reduced to 10 men when Lichumo was sent off in the 33rd minutes. Mhathung pulled back one for Forest United in the 44th minutes. Going into the second half, Forest United came back strongly in the second and was rewarded through Zanbonthung’s strike in the 85th minutes through a corner kick.
The match ended in a 2-2 draw after regular time and the game was decided via tie break. Mhathung, Zanbonthung and Lishio Scored for Forest FC. For Brother’s FC Kekhride, Merithung, Abel and Wewolo found the back of the net. With this win Brother’s FC meets big brother NRSA in the semi-final.The second match of the day saw a total of 15 goals scored in the last quarter final match of the tournament. Tournament favorites Friends FC humiliated 4G Likhya 14-1.
Sulan Ngullie alone scored in the 4, 23, 25, 33, 44, 50, 58, 68 and 75th minutes of the match, he was also the player of the tournament in the last edition. Mhonyamo also contributed with 3 goals in the 13, 31 and 41 minutes. Nythong and Khekrie were the other two contributors. The lone goal for 4G FC came through Nzanbemo’s boots in the 77th minute.
