Framework Agreement – Still No Solution in Sight

There is a saying, ‘A long dialogue means both the parties are wrong ‘. The Indo-Naga political dialogue has been going on for more than six decades now and still no immediate solution in sight. The Framework Agreement which was signed some years back has little hope, many are still skeptical and curious to know about the details. If ‘Total Sovereignty ‘ is not going to happen then why Indian Government is acting so tough? Why is it so difficult to fulfil the other demands? Whom are they afraid of? Indian Government knows exactly what Nagas are looking for. They must honour and respect our people and history. We Nagas considered ourselves as Unique, the Government of India has recognised our history as Unique, the meaning, Nagaland was never a part of India. Therefore, the solution must be Unique. And by the way, granting separate flag and Constitution doesn’t imply making another nation.Take the example of USA, it has fifty States, each have their own constitution and considered as the most powerful nation. The Government of India must take a bold decision to fulfill these two demands also and finalise it once and for all. The ball is firmly in the court of Indian Government.
